Get Set Winter Olympics
This will take place on Tuesday 22nd May at Althorpe and Keadby Primary school. This will involve all children in Year 1 to Year 6. Please ensure your child is in school at the earlier time of 8.45am. P.E kit and trainers should be worn to school. Your child will need a packed lunch and drink (if the weather is nice sun cream should be applied before school). Transport will be provided.

Non Uniform Day
Friends have requested a non uniform day on Friday 18th May in return for a £1 donation. This is to help towards the cost of the Jubilee Tea Party Afternoon.

Jubilee Lunch
Our school lunch on Friday 25th May will be a Jubilee ‘Street Party’ menu. This will include diamond shaped assorted sandwiches, cheese and egg flan fingers, pizza fingers, carrot, celery, cucumber sticks, cherry tomatoes and mini sausage rolls followed by Victoria sponge cake. If your child is normally on packed lunch and would like to have a school lunch on this day please fill in the slip and send £2 into school by Thursday 17th May. Thank you.

Jubilee Tea Party
Friends will be organising a Jubilee Tea Party on Friday 25th May at 2.00pm. The dress code for this event will be red, white and blue. At 2.30pm the children will be presented with a Jubilee coin donated by Friends and at 2.50pm there will be the release of balloons. Please contact Mrs Blanchard/Mrs Hall if you would like to purchase a balloon. Parents/carers and the wider community are invited so please make this a memorable afternoon and come along and bring your family/friends. There will also be refreshments and stalls.

Pentecost Service at Eastoft
This service is to be held on Eastoft School field on Sunday 27th May at 2.00pm. This will be followed by games for the children and a picnic tea.

Swimming
All KS2 children will be swimming at Epworth on Monday 21st May in school time. This will take place every Monday morning for the next 8 weeks the last session being on Monday 9th July. Transport is provided. Your child will need to bring a costume/trunks, towel and hair brush or comb.

Whole School Photograph
The whole school and Year 6 leavers photograph has now been moved from 22nd May to Thursday 24th May at 9.30am.

Bags2School
Friends of Eastoft School have arranged for Bags2School collections on the following dates. Friday 15th June and Wednesday 7th November.

Tax Credits
Please take time to read the tax credit letter your child has been given to see if any of the new working rules applies to your family.

Non Uniform Day
Friends have requested a non uniform day on Friday 18th May in return for a £1 donation. This is to help towards the cost of the Jubilee Tea Party.

Jubilee Tea Party

Your child brought a letter home last week to inform you of a Street Sport starting in Eastoft every Wednesday at the park. This will start on 16th May at 6.00 – 8.00pm and is available to all children/teenagers aged 8-18 years.

Week commencing 14th May is SAT’s week for our Year 6 pupils. It is very important that we have full attendance this week. All other year groups will be completing assessment tasks during the week.

Bishop of Doncaster
On Sunday 13th May at 10.30am the Bishop of Doncaster will be conducting a service at Eastoft church. We would like as many children as possible to take part in this service.  Please let us know if your child can attend on the consent form on the reverse. The service will be followed by refreshments in school afterwards.

Yr5 & 6 Cycling
Your child will need to bring their bicycle to school for a check on Thursday 10th May. This will then follow on for cycle proficiency. Dates to follow.
Cycle helmets are advisable. Thank you.

Parent Consultations
These will take place on Tuesday 1st May. Your child has been given a letter. Please return your preferred time slot to school a.s.a.p. and we will try our best to accommodate you. This is an important part of your child’s education and a way to work together to ensure progress.

Residential Trip 2012
A meeting will be held in school on Wednesday 2nd May at 2.45pm for the children and parents of those taking part in this years trip.

Sports Relief
Thank you to all who took part in this event. £49.06 was raised for this worthy charity.

SAT’s Week
Week commencing 14th May is SAT’s week for our Year 6 pupils. It is very important that we have full attendance this week.

School Uniform
As part of our uniform sensible black shoes should be worn. Thank you.

The Student Support Centre
We have been asked to bring to your attention a letter which your child received on Monday regarding after school support from a company called the Student Support Centre.

The photographer will be in school on Tuesday 22nd May at 9.30am. This is for the whole school photo and Year 6 leavers.

Yr5 & 6 Cycling

May I take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy and peaceful Easter Holiday!

Questionnaire
Thank you for those of you that returned the questionnaire. This is an important evaluation so please fill one in if you have not already done so.

Attendance/Punctuality
As you are already aware school is keen to promote full attendance. Under the new OFSTED Framework 2012 punctuality of children to school is also monitored. Please ensure that your child is at school on time. The children are called in at 8.55am every morning to ensure that lessons start promptly at 9.00am.

Staffing
We say farewell to Miss Woodings and Mr Cannon as their placements come to an end. All being well Mrs Lyons will return to work through the Easter holidays. Thank you to Mrs Gregory for standing in.

Bishop of Doncaster
A service will be held on Sunday 13th May at St Bartholomew’s Church, Eastoft by the Bishop of Doncaster. The children will be participating in the service. Details to follow.

Easter Fayre/Treasure Hunt
This will be taking place on Thursday 29th March at 1.30pm and is being organised by Friends of Eastoft School. Please come along and support us. If you cannot attend please send your child to school with pocket money to spend. Thank you.

Easter Service
A service will be held in Church on Friday 30th March at 1.30. This service is open to parents/carers and the wider community. Children may be collected after the service once they have returned to school to collect their belongings.

Easter Competition
The theme of this year’s competition will be Easter Hats/Bonnets. All children are encouraged to make/decorate a hat on the Easter theme which will be judged and prizes given at the Easter Service. Your child should bring their hat into school on the morning of Friday 30th March and place in the hall.

Sports Relief
